Alexander Calder 22 July 1898 – 11 October 1976 (New York) - American artist, sculptor, significant for his mobile sculptures - 1926 moved to Paris, member of Abstraction-Création art group education: - Stevens Institute of Technology in Hobokenu, New Jersey, - Art Students' League, New York work: abstract sculptures, since 1930s works on revolutionary mobile sculptures, often uses sheet metals; colour plays an important role, too galleries: in most of the siginificant American modern art collections; Europe: e.g. in Tate Modern, London
