Jakub Obrovský (*23rd December 1882 - †31st January 1949) was a Czech painter and sculptor. He was a student of M. Pirner, later professor of the Academy of Fine Arts. He began his career as painter of decorative mural painting and panneau. His free neoromanticist painting is typical for its bright colours (Portrait of R. Tyršová /Podobizna R. Tyršové/, Sunflowers /Slunečnice/, Above the sea /Nad mořem/ or gipsy-themed paintings. Since 1920s he focused on . He put his childhood memories on Bystrc, Brno, CZ in a chronicle called Malá řeka /Small River/.
