Egidius Sadeler 1570 – 1629 - Dutch draftsman and engraver, working for Rudolf II. - descended from a well-know family of engravers - his students were e.g. Václav Hollar or Joachim Sandrart education: pupil of his uncle Jan Sadeler in Antwerp work: principal engraver of the court of Rudolf II. - copperplates according to well-known paintings (Raffael, Dürer etc.) and acoording to his own drawings; landscapes, portraits - co-operated with other artists at the court of Rudolf II and copied their work
