Bukovac Vlaho (1855 - 1922)
Vlaho Bukovac (Vlaho Faggioni), (1855 Cavtat u Dubrovníka – 1922 Prague) Croatian painter. At the age of 11 he left home and travelled all around the world. In 1877 he stayed in Paris, became a student of Alexandre Cabanel. He met Václav Brožík and Vojtěch Hynais there. He painted the curtain for the National theatre in Zagreb. In 1903 he started working as a prfessor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Among his students were Emil Filla, Bohumil Kubišta or Bedřich Feigl.
